Class update Dec 14

Dear parents,
Had the mid-term exams.

Dictation of about 20 alphabets and few words.

Many kids need to practice I think.You know your kids, and work with them during the Xmas holidays.

 

Easy class after the test....

Watched Hindi video of children story  in class room. 

Discussed one story on the words and meaning. 

Kids got small surprise at the end of the class...

Dear parents,

Revised the matra learned so far.

Revise the few words like 

गाना गाय दूध घास

गाय दूध देती है । 

gāya dūdha dētī hai

 

गाय घास खाती है ।

gāya ghāsa khātī hai

 

Etc..,.

 

HW: Write  matra for क to  झ 

Matra for आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ, ए , ऐ  
Example:

MID-TERM Test next week.

All vowels and consonants (This is understood.. right !) 

They should know this by this time.

Dear parents,

Revised the matra learned so far.

Learned "u" "Uu" "a" "I" matra

 

 HW: Write  matra for क to  घ
Example:
क, का , कि , की... के  कै
खा खि  खी::::::

Had test last week.

It was dictation type, where alphabets were asked to write when the starting sound or words were sounded.

Example: write घ when sound and example Ghar was said.

Dear parents,
Topic of today discussion was Dewali.
Learned words related like Diya, Pooja, Mandhir, Mita-e, kapada, naya, etc.,.
Formed a few sentence for each of the words....

Revised the matra.
HW: Write first four matra for क to  घ
Example:
क, का , कि , की
खा खि  खी

Test:Next week on all vowels and consonants. 
Also the words we learned till Oct 26. Refer old posting for words.

Dear parents,
Learned few more words ..which are all blending simple consonants with vowels.
This is basically revising again consonants and vowels.
I hope they should be good by this time.

Started with matra... begin with "Aa" matra.
Learned relationship words like Nana, Nani, Putr, Beti. etc...

HW:
Write all consonants 2 times.
Write all words they have learned. so that they rem'ber.. kind of vocab building.

Time to buy index card and write them to memorise.

No class next week.

Plan to have a test on Nov 16.

Dear parents,
Class update for Oct 19.
Revised remaining of the consonants म to व
Taught many vocabulary words for each of the consonants.

Time to get a flash cards. Something like this..

Dear parents,
Welcome to Hindi Room 128 ! Hindi level 2 !!
Most of the kids in this class were in my class last year.
Last year, the kids learned all vowels and consonants.

I see now most kids are not fully through in these (:
Last few class we are revising the alphabets.
Kids were settling in with new students added with registration confusion.

Now we are all settled in.
Last week the class room had Back 2 School. Here were things communicated.

1. Attendance:Attendance is very important. 

2.List of items required by kids:

1. Note book dedicated  for Hindi. Composition type note book which has rulers. Can be reused for next level Hindi. 
2. Pencils, eraser,
3. Small 2 inch folder having 3 punch holes.. 
4. Few ruled papers.

3.Progress Report:

         Will setup criteria. Weighted grade based on

1. citizenship
2. attendance
3. monthly test
4. bi-annual test
5. annual test

4. Disciple in class.
        Mostly warning !
            Warning if repeated send to lower grade class.
             

5.Incentives
        Tokens, Stickers and Gold coins

6. Class room budget $20 per child:

To cover for material and incentives. 

Will be used to copy of materials, weekly incentives, and prizes and party time.

Diwali sweets and some sweets in Jan and year-end party.

Will assign some parents to collect for the class.

7.Class room routines.

1. name tag setup to all kids
2. start with a routine prayer/ namesta etc
3. Previous class taught revision kind what was taught..  then to next concept.
4.  New alphabets/matra/ vocabulary words
5.  Also send blog/email if possible
6.  End class with prayer (need to find a suitable one)

8.Curicullam for this year:

1. Revise all alphabets

2. Start with matras and cover all of them

3. Two letter words w/o matras

4. Three letter words w/o matras

5. Basic verbal communication.

6. Names of relationship, animals etc

7. Bhasha Setu : Blue book level 0. Need to buy this book Will be used for 2 years.

8. Poems

9. Year end program - fun time 

10. Xmas break activity event: Watch movie for assignment.
