room 224 for year 2014: Sep 20 update

Dear parents,
Today is week 3 of Hindi class.
The class is now Level 3!!!.
Most students are from my last year class. Some are from other level 2 class of last year.

The class is revising the alphabets.
In class learned a few words with and w/o matra.. mostly simple words.

Pl buy the blue label book number "Bhasa Sethu 1"
Will will be using some chapter for next year also.

HW:
Write all vowels and consonants 2 times.

Will have Open house on Oct 18 before Diwali.
Plan to get some sweets for the class students.

This year Vinita, a high school student will also be helping in the class.

year-end update

Dear parents,
The class had the final test today.
Filled missing consonants, dictation of words with and w/o matra and fixing mistakes in words.
I see many have done well.

There are many who needs to practice.
Language or any learning is not over.. Its life long learning and so is Hindi.
For those children who are not proficient in  alphabets, they need to practice. Summer is a perfect time. No excuses of school HW. Good 10 weeks of holidays.. should be able to find atleast few hours to revise and learn.

Will see you all in Sept. Pl register at level 3. (This is to keep logistic of registration, since fresh students register at level 1.. to get count on students at each level)
Will have test during first month in Sep 2014 to determine children eligibility level.

May 3th: Party time !
Class meet at 3pm. Practice songs. Provide feedback on exams.
Party outside at 3:30pm.
Pl bring snacks for the class students.There are about 35 students in our class. Let them enjoy, for learning the foreign language.  Weather seems to be good.

May 10th: Hindi Utsav !!!
Class meet at 3pm in the regular class. The teacher will walk the kids to the auditorium. They will take their backpack/bags to the auditorium. Each grade children perform. Request for parents to stay till 4:15pm when all the program has ended.

May 17th: Bal Utsav at Centerville Jr High

I have to travel to India on work this month end. Will miss all the events here. But looking forward to meet my family at home.

We are all blessed to spend time with your children. We enjoyed the time, and learned and taught..

Summarizing few updates here:
No class on March 29.

April 5th : Pre-Test on All matra learned so far and alphabets
April 12th: Ri and Ang matra teaching
April 19th: Revision class
April 26th: Hindi Finals
May 3th: Hindi class party. Will ask parents to signup for class snacks
May 10th : Hindi Utsav at 3pm to 4 pm in Assembly hall
May 17th: Bala Utsav.

Dear parents,
Revise of last week vocabulary words.
Made few more sentences on them.
Added this week few more vocab words.

Revise matra O for few alphabets.

Started with learning few poems... Thanks to Shalini who is always the lead teacher for this ...

Class update Jan 11

Dear parents,
Discussion on the movie Tare Zaamin Paar.
This time discussion is in Hindi..
What did Ishal like to do ?
What is the color of the board ? Etc

Frame a sentence question and provide answers in Hindi.

Revise the few words like
chitra, machali, karna, accha, rang, uTna, baitna, Upar, Neecha, counting etc
